Authorities arrested three people during the weekend for promoting gambling out of businesses in Market Street, Park Avenue, and Beech Street, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Diana A. Nunez, 33, and Maximo Beltre, 45, both of Paterson were arrested on Saturday along with Carlos B. Nouel, 40, of Egg Harbor, authorities said.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics, Gangs and Violent Crimes Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security investigated three city establishments for gambling. Authorities executed search warrants in V. Hookah Supplies Store located at 316-A Market Street, the 9J Barbershop at 257 Park Avenue, and a gambling business located in the rear of 91 Beech Street.

Law enforcement officials recovered gambling records, receipts, and more than $5,000 in illegal gambling proceeds.
