A city military service instructor at the Eastside High School’s government and public administration academy was arrested Thursday on charges of allegedly touching two female students, according to police.

The reserve officers’ training corps (ROTC) instructor, sergeant Trevor A. Sanders, allegedly made inappropriate sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl, who reported the incident to police on May 26th, 2015, sparking an investigation by the city’s major crimes bureau.

On further investigation, police located a second victim. Sanders, who resides in Neptune, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.

Sanders also allegedly made sexual comments to the 16-year-old, said police.

Police said the city’s school district has been cooperating with the investigation headed by detective Audrey Adams. “The Paterson Police Department has a tremendous working relationship with the Paterson board of education based on mutual respect, trust and understanding,” said police director Jerry Speziale.

Sanders has been working at the public schools since December 5th, 2011, according to district records. His salary stands at $95,942, according to district payroll.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at (973) 321-1120.
