City police arrested two alleged drug dealers following a surveillance operation on East 19th Street on Tuesday afternoon, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Ronald Green Jr., 24, of Clifton, and Jamal Wade, 31, of Paterson, have been charged with drug possession and distribution. Green was found in possession of 137 glassines of heroin, according to police.

Wade allegedly had 20 bricks or 1,000 glassines of heroin, said the director. Both have been charged with distributing drugs in a school zone.

Speziale said narcotic detectives setup surveillance in the area of 485 East 19th Street at about 1:42 p.m. after receiving citizen complaints.

“Continued community collaboration results in drugs being taken off our streets,” said the director. “On a night, national night out, when we celebrate with the community, this is a typical of community collaboration working with the police.”
