Two community guns were recovered stashed at a garbage heap on East 32nd Street as a result of a citizen tip, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Berdnik said detectives recovered a Hi Point .38 and a Luger 9 mm in the area of East 32nd Street and 12th Avenue on Friday evening. The sheriff said the two defaced semi-automatic handguns were found loaded.

The weapons were found in an area riddled with garbage, Berdnik said.

“Once again, Detectives were able to take two loaded guns off our streets,” Berdnik said. “I feel reasonable confident, that at point those weapons would have been involved in criminal activity.”
