The students of Napier Academy who received a day off on Friday after a classroom in their school building caught on fire the previous day will return to school on Monday morning, according to the school district.

Although the building will not be ready for classes, students and staff members are expected to report to the school’s playground on Monday, October 19th, 2015. From the playground teachers will walk their classes either to School 28 on Presidential Boulevard or the Christopher Hope Center on Temple Street.

The students will receive their normal classroom instructions at one of the two above locations, said district spokeswoman Terry Corallo.

Napier Academy also known as School 4 experienced a classroom fire on Thursday afternoon resulting in fire and water damage to the Clinton Street school building’s third floor.

The school was evacuated and no one was hurt in the blaze that began little after 12 p.m. and was extinguished shortly thereafter.

The district’s facilities team began cleaning up the fire damaged third floor yesterday evening and will continue the clean-up during the weekend, the district previously said.
