Eight arrested on gun, drug charges in weekly Paterson sweep

Eight people were arrested on various drugs and gun charges in the past week, according to police.

One loaded handgun, 37 bags of marijuana, 21 bags of crack-cocaine, and $2,033 in suspected drug money was seized, said police director Jerry Speziale.

William D. McAllister, 20, of North 6th Street; Jayro Cuba, 22, of Spring Street; Ernesto Regalado, 20, of Slater Street; Yansil Gonzalez, 24, of Park Avenue; Douglas D. Courtney, 30, of 16th Avenue; Messiah S. Bronson, 24, of Hamilton Avenue; Anthony D. Curry, 21, of North 3rd Street were arrested on drug charges between November 24th through 30th, 2015, said the director.

Cruz N. Maule, 24, homeless, was arrested on a gun charge for having a Cobra .380 caliber pistol, said the director. He was also charged with obstruction of a government function. Maule had a $1,000 outstanding warrant out of Elmwood Park, according to police.

McAllister was arrested on North 6th and Clinton Streets for having one baggie of marijuana and for obstruction of a governmental function on November 24th, 2015, according to police.

Police arrested Cuba on November 25th, 2015 on Main and Slater Streets for having two baggies of marijuana, hindering arrest by providing false information. He had a $1,500 outstanding warrant, according to police. Regalado was arrested in the same area on the same day for having one bag of loose marijuana under 50 grams, said the director.

Gonzalez and Courtney and Bronson were arrested at 123 16th Avenue on November 30th, 2015. Courtney had three bags of marijuana, according to police. Gonzalez had 13 red plastic containers of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, said the director.

$1,468 in suspected drug money was taken from Gonzalez. Bronson had one marijuana blunt and16 small plastic baggies of crack-cocaine, said the director.

$565 in suspected drug proceeds was confiscated from Bronson.

Curry and Maule were arrested at 291 12th Avenue on November 30th, 2015. Curry had 19 pink plastic baggies of marijuana and 5 yellow tinted baggies of crack-cocaine, according to police.

“Another weapon and more illegal drugs from our streets. Block by block, street by street,” said Speziale.
