Two people were wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon on North 6th Street less than 12 hours after two men were shot dead at an illegal nightclub on 1st Avenue.

The shooting occurred at around 3:15 p.m. on North 6th and Clinton streets. A 36-year-old man was shot in the upper torso and a 38-year-old woman was wounded in the lower arm, police said.

Both are city residents. The male victim is in critical but stable condition, police said.

12 hours earlier two city men — Fernando D. Irby, 24, and Kashif Belfield, 26 – were killed in an early morning shooting at a large party on 1st Avenue.

The two men were at a large illegal after hour party inside a warehouse at around 3:44 a.m. when they were shot and killed at 55 1st Avenue.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Detective Edgar Torres or Detective Francisco Brito of the Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
