30-year-old city resident Adam Wilson has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly wounding a 32-year-old woman in the foot on Alois Place on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Wilson also has been charged with weapons offenses, possession of defaced firearm, and for having stolen property. He was quickly arrested following an investigation by Ceasefire Unit detectives Francisco Brito, Christopher Ravallese, and Rolando Polio.

Detectives identified Wilson as the actor in the shooting incident which happened at about 3:05 p.m. at 21 Alois Place, according to police. Police do not believe the city woman, who remains in stable condition, was the intendent target in the shooting.

Three handguns — one of which was reported stolen out of Virginia — were recovered in the course of the investigation, said police. The recovered weapons will be examined at a ballistics laboratory to determine if they were involved in past shootings.

“The Ceasefire detectives methodically pieced this investigation together, which led to an arrest and three weapons being seized instantaneously,” said police director Jerry Speziale.
