Two men were wounded in an early Saturday morning shooting on East 23rd Street and Hamilton Avenue, according to police.

The victims – a 23-year-old Wayne and a 30-year-old Passaic men – were on Hamilton Avenue and East 23rd Street at about 3:45 a.m. when at least one suspect fired multiple rounds at the two men, said police.

The Wayne resident suffered a gunshot wound to the arm while the Passaic man suffered a graze to the head, according to police.

Police responded to the location upon receiving alerts of gunfire in the area, but were unable to locate the victims.

Both men arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center seeking treatment. Both men are in stable condition, said police.

“As we move forward, we have several initiatives and new technology to combat gun violence,” said police director Jerry Speziale.
