27-year-old Ameen Fields died after his dirt bike collided with a vehicle on Saturday night, according to police.
Fields was riding a dirt bike on North 5th and Clinton Streets at about 9:30 p.m. when he collided with a vehicle, said police director Jerry Speziale.
Speziale said Fields was not wearing any safety gears and the bike was “undocumented” without registration or insurance. He said Fields crashed into a woman’s car. The woman was not injured, said the director.
Fields’ mother was on the scene after the crash. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center with his mother by his side, but died shortly thereafter from injuries sustained in the accident.
Ameen Fields is the brother of slain Jaquill Fields, who was killed in a fatal hit-and-run on Temple Street last summer.
The two brothers’ mother, in less than a year, has lost two of her sons.
“The family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” said Speziale.
