A city man wanted on a robbery warrant was arrested on Wednesday night after a chase by detectives, according to according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Eshan McQueen, 27-year-old, was with a group of people on North Main Street when he sighted detectives. He quickly ran towards Stout Street ignoring detectives commands.

Authorities said McQueen zig-zaged around parked cards. He continued evading officers and was at Haledon Avenue and North Main Street when he ran into another unit with his right leg to the front bumper.

McQueen bounced off the police vehicle and hit his right leg on a “DO NOT ENTER” sign in the corner of North Main Street and Haledon Avenue. He was arrested, searched, and treated for injuries at the scene.

Berdnik said McQueen was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. He was treated and released.

Authorities processed him and charged him with resisting arrest by flight. He is being detained at the Paterson Police Department lockup.

“I want to commend the detectives involved in this arrest. It is great police work when a wanted violent criminal is literally taken off our streets,” Berdnik said.
