Police charge 23 on drug offenses in weekly Paterson sweep

23 people were arrested on drug charges in the city’s weekly narcotics sweep from June 7th through 13th, 2016, according to police.

Police seized 827 glassines of heroin, 34 grams of heroin, 11 baggies of marijuana, 12 baggies of cocaine, 11 baggies of crack-cocaine, 32 Xanax and 4 Percocet pills, and $4,125 in suspected drug money.

Michael Ryerson, 46, of Berkshire Avenue; Joshua Washington aka “Josh,” 23, of Van Houten Street; Toneisha Moore aka “Ne-Ne,” 23, of Lawerence Street; Yaser Sheika, 34, of Madison Avenue; James J. Dersch Jr., 32, of 18th Avenue; Jeffrey D. Beach, 48, of 8th Avenue; Larry D. Wilson, 40, of Grimes Place; Larry Brown, 58, of Grimes Place; Omar B. McMillan, 37, of Grimes Place; Allan Scott aka “Scott Allen,” 62, of East 18th Street; Louis Allen, 49, of Auburn Street; Christina N. Angel, 27, of Auburn Street; Tyshiona Singh, 25, of Broadway; Trayvon Sparks aka “Face,” 25, of Bridge Street; Lawrence Lee, 56, of Holsman Street; Jason Matos, 26, of River Street; and Marquan D. Stradford, 26, of Holsman Street.

Others arrested were John M. Fitzsimmons, 29, of Columbia; Lisa Estrella, 37, of Clifton; Victoria R. Carlino, 23, of Wayne; Salvatore Randazzo, 41, of Lodi; Ronald C. Paci, 48, of Lodi; and Kaygon Rhule, 30, of Garfield.

Ryerson was arrested with 200 glassines of heroin on North York and Lyon Street on June 7th, 2016.

$110 in drug money was taken from Ryerson.

Police arrested Washington on East 16th and Lyon Streets on the same day with 9 plastic baggies of marijuana and $1,138 in suspected drug money.

Moore was charged with having 210 glassines of heroin and $175 in the corner of Carroll and Governor Streets on the same day, according to police.

Sheika and Dersch were charged with drug offenses on June 8th, 2016 at 18th Avenue and East 23rd Street.

Sheika allegedly had 1 baggie of marijuana and Dersch had 12 baggies of powdered cocaine. Police took $468 from Dersch.

Police caught Beach with 8 baggies of crack-cocaine and $135 in suspected drug money on Fulton and Jelsma Places on the same day.

Fitzsimmons and Wilson were arrested the same day at 3 Grimes Place, according to police. Wilson allegedly sold 28 glassines of heroin and 3 baggies of crack-cocaine to Fitzsimmons, according to police.

Wilson had 72 glassine of heroin remaining. Police also seized $181 in drug money.

Brown and McMillan were charged with having 110 glassines of heroin at 10-2 Grimes Place on June 8th, 2016, according to police.

$1,524 in drug money was seized from McMillan.

Scott, Estrella, Allen, Angel, and Singh were arrested at 87 Auburn Street on June 9th, 2016.

Singh and Angel allegedly sold 3 glassines of heroin to Estrella and 1 baggie of crack-cocaine to Scott. Singh and Angel were charged with having 34 grams of heroin, half-ounce of crack-cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

Allen was charged with having 100 glassines of heroin. He also resisted arrest by running from officers, according to police.

Carlino and Sparks were charged with drug offenses on June 10th, 2016. Sparks allegedly sold 15 glassines to Carlino, according to police.

Sparks had 38 glassines of heroin and $170 in suspected drug money in his possession, according to police.

Lee was arrested on the same day at 229 Summer Street with 32 prescription Xanax pills.

On June 13th, 2016, police arrested Randazzo and Paci at 450 Broadway. Randazzo allegedly had 7 glassines of heroin while Paci had 62.

Rhule was arrested for having 100 glassine of heroin on the same day on 17th Avenue and East 21st Street, said police.

$224 in drug money was seized from Rhule.

Matos was arrested at 210 Park Avenue for having a small plastic bag of marijuana on the same day.

Police arrested Stradford with 4 prescription Percocet pills at 16th Avenue and Carroll Street on the same day.

“We will continue to step up our efforts to rid our city streets of illegal drugs,” said police director Jerry Speziale.
