Four city men were arrested on drug charges Friday night as a result of a surveillance operation setup outside of a home on East 22nd Street, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Edrian Peguero, 19, of 6th Avenue; Erick Peguero, 27, of 6th Avenue; Jeffrey Rodriguez, 34, of Market Street; Esteven Peguero, 27, of 6th Avenue, were ensnared in the surveillance operation setup outside of 451 East 22nd Street due to numerous complaints from residents about drug dealing outside of the two-story home.

Police officers Ryan Duffy, Thomas Giaquinto, and Jovan Candelo arrested the four men. Officers seized a Taurus .308 caliber handgun from Edrian Peguero. He was charged with unlawful weapon possession, certain person not to have a firearm, possession of prescription drugs, and various drug distribution offenses.

Police charged Erick Peguero with numerous drug offenses. Both Jeffrey Rodriguez and Esteven Peguero were charged with having in possession prescription medication, said the director.

“The men and women are working extremely hard to reduce violence and rid our city of illegal drugs,” said Speziale of the police officers involved in the surveillance operation that led to the arrests.
