A 26-year-old city man was wounded in the shoulder at the intersection of Walnut Street and Wayne Avenue on Saturday night, according to police.
Police located the victim when officers responded to the intersection at about 9 p.m. He was found with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, according to police.
The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he is in stable condition, said police.
Police said the incident remains under investigation and urge anyone with information to contact detectives.
This is the first non-fatal shooting or homicide in 32 days, said police director Jerry Speziale. He attributed the reduction in shootings in the city to a series of active initiatives including the expansion of the hotspot business curfew ordinance.
