The city’s police officers conducted a drug investigation at an East 29th Street home that yielded two arrests and seizure of more than 1,800 packets of heroin as a result of a citizen complaint made via the mayor’s constituent services hotline, according to police.

City residents Rashawn L. Brown, 44, and John Houston, 27, were arrested at their home located at 586 East 39th Street at about 7:57 p.m. on Wednesday.

Both men were charged with having 1,826 glassines of heroin, according to police. Brown and Houston were also charged with intent to sell drugs and intent to distribute close to School 20, said police.

Mayor Jose “Joey” Torres re-instituted the Constituent Services hotline after returning to office in 2014. The 24/7 hotline is as follows: 973-742-INFO or (973) 742-4636.

“The collaboration between the community and the administration is tremendous and assisting on so many levels to make a safer Paterson,” said police director Jerry Speziale.
