A five-day carnival event celebrating Puerto Ricans heritage is being held at Westside Park from Wednesday July 27th through Sunday, July 31st, 2016, according to organizers.

Put on by the National Council for Puerto Rican Heritage, the event will feature amusement rides – kiddie rides, merry-go-rounds — and games of chance. It will also feature ethnic food from the Caribbean territory.

Proceeds from the carnival will go towards various community endeavors including scholarships for city students and an annual Christmas dinner where free toys are handed to children.

Carnival begins on July 27th and continues through 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st, 2016.

Each day the event – in the ball-field of Westside Park (114 Totowa Avenue) — begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
