A 37-year-old city man is in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the side of his head on 12th Avenue on Saturday night, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police responded to 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street on reports of multiple shots fired at about 10:40 p.m. when the victim was located with a gunshot wound to the head area. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, said police.

Speziale said the victim is in stable condition. This is the second shooting to occur in September after a bloody August.

An 18-year-old man was struck in the arm on Highland and Sparrow Streets early Friday morning, according to police.

“The department is reviewing the combination of shootings to determine the causes and will meet on Tuesday to strategize and strategically address the situation,” said Speziale.
