A 25-year-old city man arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center late Thursday night with a gunshot wound to the arm, according to police.

Police said the victim, who was uncooperative and evasive in answering questions, stated he was shot while walking past a group of people on 17th Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. He told police he heard gunshots and was struck in the arm.

The victim told police he was transported to the hospital by a friend. He was dropped off a block away from the hospital, said police.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
