Paterson grocery store sells $174,000 lottery ticket

A customer of a city grocery store won $174,376 in the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from Thursday’s lottery drawing, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

Los Mellos Grocery & Deli locate at 302 Trenton Avenue in Paterson sold the winning ticket. The ticket matched all five numbers: 04, 12, 29, 34 and 43 the XTRA number was: 03.

“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Mellos Grocery & Deli. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket,” Carole Hedinger, executive director of the New Jersey Lottery, said. “Overnight, they have become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner.’”

There were 339,210 tickets sold for the drawing.
