Three men known for allegedly dealing drugs on 9th and 10th Avenues were arrested on Friday and 8.5 pounds of marijuana was confiscated, said police director Jerry Speziale.

City residents Michael Grace, 44, of East 26th Avenue; Kevin Hoillet, 30, of East 28th Street; and Marvin Jackson, 31, of East 23rd Street were arrested when police raided the second and third floor of 458 East 26th Street.

Police charged Grace and Hoillet with marijuana possession, distribution, dealing close to Rosa Parks High School, and drug paraphernalia possession.

Both had 8.5 pounds of marijuana, said police. Jackson had 20 glassines of heroin. He was charged with intent to deal drugs and deal close to School 21.

Jackson also tried to get away from police using a car, said the director. Police said his maneuver created a substantial risk of injury and death.

Speziale said the bust follows a long-term investigation. Police received information a group was dealing marijuana in the vicinity of 10th Avenue and residential areas of 9th Avenue between East 26th Street and East 29th Street.
