A city man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times on Auburn Street early Friday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the victim, 26, sustained gunshot wounds to the leg and torso. He was located at about 12:15 p.m. inside the first floor of 87 Auburn Street. He was immediately taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for medical care, according to police. The victim is in critical condition at the hospital, said police.

The incident appears “drug related,” said police director Jerry Speziale. Detectives are conducting interviews and canvassing the area for information about the incident.

This is the city’s 2nd shooting this year so far.
