Passaic County Community College offering training in home health aide, pharmacy technician careers

The Passaic County Community College is offering career training in the growing home health aide and pharmacy technician careers.

Home health aide

Those interested in becoming a certified home health aide should call 973-523-1224 to make an appointment to attend courses that will run every day from February 13, 2017 through March 7, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Paterson campus.

Program requirements:

Pharmacy Technician

Training for pharmacy technician career starts on April 3, 2017. A nationally certified pharmacy technician can fill jobs in retail pharmacies, hospital, long-term care facilities, and managed health care organizations.

Applicants may qualify for short-term grant funding through the New Jersey Health Professions Consortium Grant Programs at the college.

The home health aide occupation is projected to grow by 38-percent and pharmacy technician by 9-percent over the next ten years, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
