The city’s weekly drug sweep yielded 28 arrests and 686 glassine envelopes of heroin, said police director Jerry Speziale.
Police also seized 38 Alprazolam pills, 1 glass jar of Phencyclidine (PCP) and 1 cigarette dipped in PCP, 48 baggies of crack-cocaine, 13 baggies of marijuana, 5 MDMA pills, 1 bottle (72grams) of Promethazine, and 1 sandwich bag containing 21 grams of crack-cocaine from January 2nd through 9th, 2017.
Arrested were city residents Steven Boyd, 50, of Presidential Boulevard; Wellington Santana, 37, of East 32nd Street; Myesha J. Rivera, 25, of 12th Avenue; Dinnick Mahoney, 22, of North 3rd Street; Bruce Gatsik, 62, of Ward Street; Kevin Lucanto, 42 of Ward Street; a 16-year-old boy; Quadir S. Treadwell, 33, of Highland Street; Michael E. West aka “Micha West,” 25, of Fulton Street; Laquecia C. Logan, 22, of Holsman Street; Frank J. Culbreath, 39, of Fulton Place; Tamir Blackwood, 24, of East 25th Street; Carlos C. Perez, 47, of East 23rd Street; Josell J. Feggins, 30, of Paterson Street; Daquan Moore, 34, of Hamilton Avenue; Bernard Marche, 30, of Madison Avenue; Thomas McCrae, 66, of Rosa Parks Boulevard; Trayvon Sparks, 26, of Bridge Street; Stevey Rodriguez, 25, of East 21st Street; Jinette Ramirez, 41, of East 24th Street; Marcus J. Toledo, 18, of Temple Street; Xavier Cortes, 22, of Coral Street; and Lashaun J. Taylor, 38, of Straight Street.
Also arrested were Donald Burney, 46, of Rochelle Park; Alexander Choi, 23, of Wayne; Sajat Xheraj, 26, of Lodi; Daniel L. Diaz, 28, of New Milford; and Robert R. Duva, 57, of North Haledon.
Burney, Boyd, and Santana were busted at 141 Governor Street on Jan. 2nd, 2017.
Police said Santana had 66 glassines. He sold 1 glassine to Burney and 13 to Boyd, said police. He was charged with seven drug offenses. $193 in suspected drug money was seized from him, said police.
Burney and Boyd were charged with heroin possession. On the same day, police charged Rivera, Mahoney, Gatsik, Lucanto, and the 16-year-old city boy at 259 Broadway on various drug offenses.
Rivera is accused of having 38 Alprazolam pills and 1 bottle of Promethazine. Rivera sold 10 pills to Gatsik and Lucanto, said police.
Rivera was charged with 11 drug offenses, said police.
Mahoney was charged with four drug offenses for having 1 bottle of Promethazine. $217 in suspected drug money was taken from Mahoney. Gatisk and Lucanto were charged with possession of 10 Alprazolam pills, said police.
Police said the 16-year-old boy had 78 glassines of heroin. He was charged with four drug offenses and resisting arrest by flight. He also had an outstanding juvenile warrant, said police.
$55 in cash was seized from the boy.
Treadwell and West were arrested on Jan. 3rd, 2017 at Rosa Parks Boulevard and Ellison Street. Treadwell had 47 glassines of heroin, said police. He was charged with three drug offenses.
West allegedly had 1 glass jar of Phencyclidine (PCP) and 1 “dipped” cigarette (10grams). He was charged with five drug offenses including for having drug paraphernalia.
Choi and Logan were arrested on North 1st Street on the same day, said police.
Logan allegedly had 7 baggies of crack-cocaine. 1 baggie was sold to Choi, said police. Logan also had 10 glassines of heroin.
Police charged Logan with 11 drug charges. $221 in cash was seized from Logan.
Culbreath, Blackwood, Perez, and Feggins were arrested at 311 Park Aveenue on Jan. 4th, 2017.
Culbreath and Blackwood were charged with having 9 baggies of crack-cocaine. Both were charged with 5 druf offenses. Police said the two sold 7 baggies of crack-cocaine to Perez.
Feggins had 19 baggies of crack-cocaine and 8 glassines of heroin. He was charged with 6 drug offenses. $120 in suspected drug money was taken from him.
On Jan. 5, 2017, police arrested Moore with 10 baggies of marijuana at 200 Rosa Parks Boulevard. He was charged with three drug offenses, said police.
Xheraj, Marche, and McCrae were arrested the same day at 171 Godwin Avenue. Police charged Xheraj, Marche with loitering to commit a drug offense while McCrae was charged with having 16 glassines of heroin.
Sparks was caught with 450 glassines of heroin on Hamilton Avenue and Summer Street. Police took $531 in suspected drug money from him.
Sparks was also charged with intent to deal drugs and intent to deal close to School 6.
Rodriguez and Ramirez were arrested at 800 Broadway. Police charged Ramirez with having 1 baggie of marijuana. Rodriguez was charged with having 2 baggies of marijuana and 5 MDMA pills.
Police charged Rodriguez with 6 drug offenses. $144 was seized from him as suspected drug money.
Diaz was arrested on Jan. 6th, 2017 at 126 Belmont Avenue with 29 glassines of heroin, said police. On the same day, Duva, Toledo, and Cortes were arrested at 73 North 9th Street.
Toledo and Cortes were charged with having 13 baggies and 1 sandwich bag of crack-cocaine, 70 glassines of heroin, and drug paraphernalia, said police. Both men were each charged with 9 drug offenses. Cortes was also charged with eluding.
Police confiscated $41 from Toledo and $440 from Cortes. Both were accused of selling 2 baggies of crack-cocaine to Duva who was charged with possession.
Taylor was arrested on Straight and Van Houten Street with 1 baggie of marijuana on Jan. 9th, 2017, said police.
“This is indicative of the hard work and tireless efforts of Paterson’s Finest in suppressing illegal narcotics,” said Speziale.
