The city’s native daughter and “The Voice” finalist Wé McDonald is putting on a concert for all high school seniors at the Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

McDonald’s musical performance dubbed the “Voice of Paterson Concert” hosted by mayor Jose “Joey” Torres and William Paterson University is open to all high school seniors. Concert will also feature the Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts choir and the Passaic County Technical Institute’s sound chorus.

“Wé McDonald’s extraordinary talent has placed her and the name of our city at the forefront of national acclaim,” Torres said. “A daughter of Paterson, we are especially proud of her outstanding performance on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ and wish her the utmost success.”

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Seniors will be welcomed on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be requested from the principals office.

“We are so pleased to see We’ McDonald’s success and proud that she is one of our students.  When Mayor Torres reached out to us to talk about his plans for this event, we were happy to have the performance take place on our campus,” said Kathleen Waldron, president of William Paterson University, said.

The Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University is located at 300 Pompton Road, Wayne, NJ 07470.
