Two people from Elmwood Park and Hackettstown were arrested in connection with an armed robbery and shooting on Chamberlain Avenue late Tuesday night, according to police.

Police charged Iesha Brown, 19, of Elmwood Park, and Terrance Douglas-Davis Jr., 19, of Hackettstown with attempted murder, robbery, possession of weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Police officers Edwin Martinez and Joshua Espinal responded to 460 Chamberlain Avenue on report of an armed robbery and shots fired in the area. The officers learned the suspects fled the area in a minivan.

Detectives Anthony Castronova and William Hermann saw a minivan fitting the fleeing vehicle’s description on Memorial Drive and West Broadway. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and both Brown and Douglas-Davis were placed under arrest.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident along with a string of robberies that have occurred throughout the city. Police director Jerry Speziale praised the officers for quickly piecing together the incident and arresting the two suspects.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact detectives Jason English and Benny Ramos at 973-321-1120.
