The city council settled two workers’ compensation claim cases paying out $105,898 to two police officers for sustaining injuries while on duty.
Police officer Angela Blow, who allegedly injured her right foot, left foot, and lumbar on July 29th, 2009 while in a high speed defensive driving course, received $62,500, according to city records.
Similarly, police officer Kevin Kaufman allegedly slipped and fell on ice in the rear parking lot of the police headquarters on January 18th, 2015. He injured his right shoulder, according to his claim.
Kaufman received $43,398.
Council members discussed both cases in a closed-door meeting on Tuesday night. Both claims were approved at that special meeting of the City Council.
