A fire displaced 16 people from their Madison Avenue home on Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters quickly hosed the exterior fire at 923 Madison Avenue at around 2 p.m. Firefighters evacuated the two-story home and checked report of flames in the basement.

American Red Cross is helping the 16 people displaced with emergency assistance and temporary lodging.
