Paterson grocery store sold $1.1 million jackpot ticket

A city grocery store sold the lucky lottery ticket that matched all five numbers for the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from Wednesday’s drawing, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

Ticket with the winning numbers is worth $1.1 million. The winning numbers from yesterday’s drawing were 12, 13, 28, 31 and 40 and the XTRA number was: 02.

Gabby Mini Market at 223 17th Avenue in Paterson sold the winning ticket.

“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Gaby Mini Market. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket. Overnight, they have become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner,” Carole Hedinger, executive director of the New Jersey Lottery, said.

Hedinger said there were 1,024,469 tickets purchased for the drawing. 158 ticket holders won $574 for correctly matching four of the five numbers and 18 won $1,148 with the addition of the XTRA number. 6,449 ticketholders won $15 for correctly matching three of the five numbers and 753 won $30 for with the additional XTRA number. 9,836 ticketholders won $2 for correctly matching two of the five numbers drawn with the addition of XTRA on their purchase.
