The Greater Bergen Community Action has added four new early head start classrooms at its East 35th Street location in Paterson, according to the group. This increases the groups’ capacity at the building to hold 32 more local children ages 0-3.
Each new classroom will hold eight infants and toddlers providing them with free early childhood education. The brightly decorated classrooms are equipped with educational materials and toys for children.
“The children are the roots of every community, and we recognize that at Head Start. We care for these babies from the time they are just months old,” Gwendolyn Wright, area director for the Paterson Head Start centers, said.
The Eastside head start and early head start center is located at 500 East 35th Street.
