More than a dozen jazz concerts will be hosted at the new Passaic County Courthouse Plaza in Paterson from June through September. Performers will put on concerts every Tuesday from June 13th through September 27th, 2017.
Performers include the Mike Luipersbeck Jazz Quartet, the Inner City Ensemble, Dixie Lane Group, Pop Rock Group, Latin Jazz Group, and the William Paterson University jazz program. There will also be poetry performance from Angela Kariotis, according to Kelly Ruffel, director of the Passaic County Department of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
In all, 14 concerts will be put on at the plaza.
The Passaic County Courthouse Plaza is located on Hamilton Street in downtown Paterson. The area in front of the historic Passaic County Courthouse received a major facelift in late 2015 when the Passaic County government completed its $721,000 courthouse plaza project effectively transforming the tatty area between the old Central High School and the stately Passaic County Courthouse buildings.
In the event of rain the concert for the week will be cancelled.
Start time for each day’s concert is 11 a.m.
The concerts are funded through a $1,800 grant from the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council that was obtained from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
