The American Red Cross is assisting two families displaced after a fire at their East 26^th Street house on Wednesday afternoon.

Four people were provided emergency assistance including temporary lodging. Fire at their house at 653 East 26^th Street was reported at 3:39 p.m.

Firefighters found the upper floors of the two-story building was on fire. The blaze was under control within an hour.

At least one person was injured at the scene.
