Two people were wounded in separate shootings early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Police said a 43-year-old city man was shot in the neck at about 12:55 a.m. on Summer Street close to Broadway.
Police officers on patrol heard sounds of gunfire in the area and began investigating to find a victim with a gunshot wound to the neck area on the sidewalk outside of 200 Summer Street.
Three hours later, a mile away, police received report of a second shooting. A 23-year-old city man was shot in the leg on Rosa Parks Boulevard near Lyons Street at about 4:15 a.m.
Both victims were taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. The 43-year-old is in stable condition while the 23-year-old was treated and released, said police.
Police continue to investigate both incidents.
