30-year-old city resident Jaronn Stokes was arrested on Thursday night and charged with two attempted murder counts for allegedly wounding two men in a shooting on 17th Avenue, according to police.

Police director Jerry Speziale said detectives from the Ceasefire Unit spotted Stokes on 12th Avenue and East 18th Street. He was identified as the alleged actor in the June 14th, 2017 shooting on 17th Avenue and East 28th Street.

Stokes allegedly wounded two men — 28-year-old and a 30-year-old – in their legs at about 5 p.m.

Both victims made it to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center via private vehicle for treatment.

Detectives Salvatore Marotta and Joehan Suarez conducted the investigation that determined Stokes was the alleged actor. Both detectives plus detectives Michael Quinones and Ricardo Ferreira arrested Stokes without an incident.

Speziale said Stokes is being detained pending court proceedings.
