Detectives arrested an alleged buyer from New York and a dealer from Paterson in a Fair Street drug bust on Tuesday evening, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Christopher J. Zecchini, 29, of Middletown, NY, and Kayla S. Pomales, 22, of Paterson, were arrested on drug charges.

Zecchini allegedly parked his Subaru vehicle in front of 339 Fair Street at 6 p.m. After the vehicle idled for several minutes, Pomales (pictured on left) got out of 339 Fair Street, and approached the driver side window of the vehicle.

Detectives saw Pomales hand several bundles of heroin to Zecchini (pictured on right) in exchange for money, authorities said. Zecchini was pulled over on Broadway and East 24th Street and had four bundles of heroin, authorities said.

A bundle of heroin is typically ten glassine envelopes. Pomales got out a second time from the house and was placed under arrest. 1,400 glassine envelopes of heroin and $6,100 in cash was seized from her bedroom, authorities said.

“This was a major arrest and seizer of illegal narcotics,” Berdnik said.

Zecchini was charged with heroin possession and released pending court appearance. Pomales was charged with six drug offenses and is being held at the Passaic County Jail.
