17-year-old Michigan girl wounded in Paterson shooting

A 17-year-old girl from Michigan was wounded in an early Sunday morning shooting on Carroll Street and 12th Avenue, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities said the teen sustained multiple gunshot wounds at around 2:20 a.m. and was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police were called to 114 Godwin Avenue on report of a shooting. The victim was found there. Police located a crime scene little more than a block away in the area of Carroll Street and 12th Avenue, authorities said.

Police officers were responding to reports of gunfire in different parts of the city. A shooting on Sherman Avenue between Henry Street and Totowa Avenue damaged a vehicle at around 12:20 a.m.
