A city man was arrested on Monday and charged with five counts of attempted murder, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Luis M. Rivera, 25, is also charged with weapons offenses, aggravated assualt, and person not to have a weapon, authorities said. Authorities accused Rivera of wounding a 22-year-old city man outside of 481 Summer Street on July 21, 2017.

There were five total victims in the incident, authorities said, but only one sustained injuries.

The victim was treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Rivera could face a long prison sentence if convicted on the numerous charges.
