Paterson awards $350,000 in social service grants

Municipal officials awarded $350,000 to two dozen social service agencies and programs on Tuesday night.
The largest award of $103,109 went to senior services and veterans’ affairs. The second biggest award was given to the Trailblazers. And the third largest grant of $22,000 was awarded to the Youth Services Bureau, according to city records.
Other agencies and programs receiving funding are:
- Catholic Family & Community Services Adult Day Satellite, $10,000
- Boys and Girls Club, $10,000
- Grandparents Relative Care Center, $10,869
- Heart of Hannah Women’s Center, $6,000
- Hispanic Multi-Purpose Center, $10,000
- Inner City Ensemble, $8,000
- Jumpstart, $8,000
- Madison Avenue After School Program, $10,000
- St. Augustine After School, $8,000
- St. Paul’s Community Development Corporation, $10,000
- United Way of Passaic County, $16,000 (two separate awards of $8,000)
- Oasis, $9,000
- Catholic Family & Community Services Senior Activities, $10,000
- City Green, $6,000
- Women and Family Ascending Association, $6,000
- Visiting Homemaker Service of Passaic County, $6,000
- Paterson School Based Youth Services Program, $15,000
- Youth Services Bureau’s Total Life Program, $12,000
- Mayor’s council on aging, $2,551
- Mayor’s council on Handicapped, $2,551
- Municipal Alliance of Paterson, $15,920
- Paterson YMCA, $16,000 (two separate awards of $8,000).
