Paterson pays out $180,000 in workers compensation cases

The city settled four workers’ compensation claims by paying out $180,092, according to municipal records.
The largest payout of $108,000 went to Joyce Dubose, a supervisor at the municipal court. She allegedly injured her neck and lower back while lifting a box on May 22, 2014, according to city records.
Dubose’s claim was approved by the city council on Tuesday night. Other claims approved were:
- $34,635 for firefighter Christopher Tiritilli. He was allegedly dislocated his shoulder while pulling down a ceiling during a fire call on Mar. 21, 2016.
- $33,957 for firefighter Andre Lincoln. He fell to the ground getting into a fire truck on Nov. 8, 2015, injuring his right shoulder.
- $3,500 for Miguel Cepero. He allegedly injured his lower back and neck during an accident in a city SUV on May 2, 2016, according to city records.
