Paterson police arrest two, seize almost 1,400 bags of heroin

The police arrested two city men and seized almost 1,400 glassine envelopes of heroin in a drug bust on East 23rd Street.
Police charged Marvin Moody, 39, and Lawrence Moody, 37, with drug offenses. Marvin was charged with six drug offenses, including possession and distribution, while Lawrence was charged with marijuana possession.
Detectives seized 1,376 glassine envelopes of heroin, 92 baggies of crack cocaine, and under 50 grams of loose marijuana during the bust at 486 East 23rd Street on Thursday at around 10:28 a.m., police said.
Police acted on confidential information that stated a person was dealing drugs in the area of 10th Avenue, East 23rd Street, and 486 East 23rd Street, according to police director Jerry Speziale.
