A fourth suspect has been arrested in the shooting of a 27-year-old East Orange man on Getty Avenue in Paterson, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Harold Hood, 31, of Staten Island, NY, surrendered to police on Tuesday, authorities said. He is charged with first degree attempted murder; second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun (two counts), and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.
Authorities said Hood was involved in the shooting that took place on July 13, 2019 on Getty Avenue and Hemlock Street. Police located the victim in a building on Getty Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and rushed him to St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Two weeks ago, police charged Jeffrey Hulse, 29, of Roselle, New Jersey; Keith Hood, 29, of Staten Island, New York; and Rasheim Williams, 26, of Brooklyn, New York, for their alleged roles in the incident.
Hulse is charged with first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, authorities said. Keith Hood and Williams, both New York corrections officers, were charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun.
Harold Hood could face a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted on the attempted murder charge. Prosecutors will file a motion for pretrial detention, authorities said.
