Thirteen people were displaced and a firefighter was injured in a blaze on 10th Avenue early Saturday morning.
Firefighters began battling the flames at 395 10th Avenue at around 12:30 a.m., said deputy fire chief Frank Calamita. Upon arrival, firefighters saw the flames extending from the first floor to the second, he said.
Calamita said fire touched a house next door, but firefighters halted the spread. “They knocked it down quick,” said Calamita. He said flames were out by 1:15 a.m.
The 13 displaced residents were provided emergency assistance through the American Red Cross, said the deputy chief.
