A man from the Bronx was driving on East 31st Street in Paterson on Friday night when he was fatally shot, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Riquelvin Burgos-Nunez, 24-year-old, was traveling in his vehicle on East 31st Street between 11th and 12th avenues when he was shot, authorities said. He continued to drive until the vehicle crashed into another and came to a stop at 749 Broadway.

At that time, an unknown person placed him in another vehicle and took him to the Alaris Health facility in Rochelle Park, authorities said.

Police responded to the Alaris Health at around 9 p.m. in response to report of a shooting victim having been driven to the facility in a private car. Police found the victim had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. Burgos-Nunez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Detective Bureau at 973-321-1120.
