The police arrested a city man and confiscated a handgun and hundreds of packets of heroin on Tuesday morning, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Oshun Carey, 38-year-old, has been charged with 10 drug offenses and 4 weapons charges, police said.
Detectives observed him engage in an alleged hand-to-hand drug transaction at 271 Summer Street at around 11:30 a.m. He was observed securing small items in a motor vehicle just before the alleged drug sale.
Carey was arrested.
A search of his home on the second floor of 13 North 3rd Street yielded 370 glassine envelopes of heroin, 85 Oxycontin tablets, under 50 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen Jennings Firearms Bryco Arms .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun loaded with seven rounds.
