The police arrested six people during a raid at an afterhours lounge that operated from the second floor of a garage door business on Railroad Avenue, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Police arrested Wellington Soto, 46, of Garfield; Carlton Beckford, 46, of Paterson; Bolivar Abreu, 32, of Paterson; Elias Cordero, 36; Maria Correa, 41, of Haledon; Anthony Sosa-Felix, 33, of Paterson, during their raid at 183-195 Railroad Avenue on Friday.

All six were charged with causing or risking widespread injury, possession of a weapon in the form of mace, smoking hookah indoors, and maintaining a nuisance.

Police received calls of cars parked in a dangerous manner, fights, loud music, car accidents, intoxicated driving, and gangs hanging outside the location prompting the raid.

Police issued 12 municipal ordinance violations, towed four vehicles, confiscated 20 hookah pipes, 138 bottles of alcohol, and $1,048 cash.

Speziale said the location served as a magnet for crime and disorder.
