Three Paterson men charged with attempted murder in Pacific Street shooting

Three city men were arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder for their alleged roles in a shooting on Pacific Street, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Roberto Rodriguez, 21, Kaleik Easton, 25, and D’ron Mims, 19, were also charged with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, unlawful possession of a handgun, and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.
Authorities said Mims additionally faces eight drug offenses in relation to his arrest on Friday. Police arrested the other two men months ago in connection with the September 7, 2019 shooting on Pacific and Levine street.
Rodriguez was arrested on September 8, 2019 and Easton was arrested on September 18, 2019. All three are accused of shooting a 35-year-old Paterson man in the area. The victim sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound, authorities said.
Rodriguez, Easton, and Mims face a maximum of 20 years in state prison on just the first-degree attempted murder charge, authorities said.
Prosecutors have filed motion for pretrial detention for all three men.
