A city man wanted for his alleged role in a broad daylight shooting in Paterson was arrested in Georgia, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Ismael Marrero, 31, of Paterson, was arrested by the US Marshals Service in Snellville, GA on Wednesday, authorities said. Police previously arrested Luis Marrero, 27, of Paterson, and a 17-year-old, for their alleged role in the November 18, 2019 shooting on Paterson Avenue between James Street and Union Avenue.

Luis was arrested on November 20, 2019. The juvenile was arrested on November 27, 2019. Police charged all three with various attempted murder and weapons offenses. Authorities said the trio approached the 23-year-old man to rob him. Police said the victim was shot in the course of the robbery.

The victim suffered a non-fatal injury.

A judge approved the pretrial detention of Luis. Ismael is pending extradition hearing in Snellville, authorities said. Prosecutors will file a motion for pretrial detention when Ismael is extradited to Paterson.
