Let’s flatten the curve together, Paterson

First, I want to send a special prayer out to all our residents who are currently dealing with this terrible virus. I want to send a special prayer out to Paterson mayor Andre Sayegh; I am delighted to hear that Dr. James Pruden has been released from the hospital and is on his way to recovery.

This brings me to my next point. A point that most of us still can’t comprehend. Social distancing isn’t meant to punish the community. It’s meant to protect the community and to save lives. I am urging all Paterson residents to please adhere to CDC guidelines. Also, we have to be more diligent in fulfilling the social distancing rule that is currently in place.

To hear that Paterson has the most novel coronavirus infected residents in the whole of Passaic County is alarming and troubling to say the least. It is high time that we get serious as residents about this pandemic and start treating it for what it is – a public health crisis. I urge everyone on the frontlines to please exercise extreme caution when interacting with the community. This includes, distribution of food, water, toiletries, nonperishable items, etc. We are in the midst of a serious issue and we must take it seriously.

Last but certainly not least, if for no other reason, please consider the heath and wellbeing of our children and seniors. Let’s not forget that they are among the most vulnerable while this pandemic continues. Without a doubt we are all being tested. But we must continue follow the guidelines if we ever want to see an end to this pandemic in our city.

Be well. Stay safe. Stay home.
