Paterson police recover three semi-automatic handguns overnight

The police arrested three people, including a 16-year-old boy, and recovered three semi-automatic handguns in two incidents on Saturday night, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Rammfis Luna, 45, of Paterson; Ramir Williams, 19, of Paterson; and a 16-year-old Paterson boy, were charged with weapons offenses.
Luna was additionally charged with cocaine possession and motor vehicle violations.
Police recovered the first gun at around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Governor and Carroll streets. Luna was allegedly speeding through Carroll Street in a white SUV, ignoring traffic signs.
Detectives stopped him at 179 Lafayette Street. The driver, Luna, tried to conceal a handgun when detectives approached the vehicle. Police recovered a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Luna was quickly arrested without an incident.
Police recovered the second and third guns at around 10:40 p.m. in the area of East 22nd Street and 10th Avenue.
Police observed Williams and the 16-year-old walking in the roadway. When police approached both walked towards the sidewalk and discarded two objects near a parked vehicle. They walked away from police.
Police recovered a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and a 40 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Williams and the 16-year-old were arrested without an incident, police said.
