Preliminary Paterson election results has Jackson, Khalique, Mendez, Cotton, Velez leading

Early results in the six Paterson ward elections has Michael Jackson, Shahin Khalique, Alex Mendez, Ruby Cotton, and Luis Velez leading.
Just 5,121 of the 14,181 mail-in votes that came in so far were counted, according to the results. Vote total is likely to increase as more ballots are delivered to the Board of Elections on Thursday.

The tallies are too low to definitively declare winners in the six ward races.
Election officials will have the final tally on May 19.
