Three city men have been charged in connection with a double shooting outside of St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
John Delacruz, 22, Wilfredo Garcia, 20, and Modino Garcia, 42, have been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and weapons offenses.
Garcia and Garcia remain on the run, authorities said. Both men should be considered armed and dangerous.
Delacruz was arrested on May 31.
The charges against the three men spring from the May 27 shooting in the area of 73 Hospital Plaza.
Police said the two victims – 20-year-old Brian Olivio and 20-year-old David Torres – were standing together outside 73 Hospital Plaza.
Delacruz pulled up in a black sedan near the victims. The two Garcias got out of the vehicle and physically attacked Olivio and Torres. During the attack the suspects opened fire striking both Olivio and Torres, authorities said.
The Garcias got back into Delacruz’s vehicle and fled from the scene.
Olivio died from the gunshot wounds.
Torres managed to walk into the emergency room and survived.
Delacruz is being detained pending disposition of the charges against him.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Wilfredo Garcia and Modino Garcia to call the Paterson Police Detective Bureau at 973-321-1120.
